A preview:

A preview of a film or tv programme is written to be read before a film is released or a tv programme is screened. The purpose of a preview serves several functions including:

telling the reader who is in it

providing some background of the actors, production etc.

advising the reader when the film or programme will be released or screened

 

A review:

A review is usually a report of a film or tv programme that has already been screened, like a preview it has several functions:

provides an outline of what the film or programme is about for those who have not seen it

telling the reader who is in it

providing views on the strengths and weaknesses of aspects of the film or programme, i.e. the acting, plot and setting

commenting on the quality of the film or programme

judging whether or not it is a success
