Chemistry - Chemical Formulae

An atom’s name can be represented by a symbol. This is usually the first letter or two of its mane in: English, Latin or German.

A chemical formula is a way of expressing information about the atoms that constitute a particular chemical compound, and how the relationship between those atoms changes in chemical reactions.

For molecular compounds, the molecular formula identifies each element by its chemical symbol and indicates the number of atoms of each element found in each discrete molecule of that compound.
